Benefits

It is said to be a natural cleanser  that works as a surfactant to remove dirt and build-up from your scalp.

A NATURAL CLEANSER

It does not strip away scalp's natural oils, thus maintaining the natural eco-system of your scalp. It also boosts sebum production preventing your scalp from drying out.

 PREVENTS DRY SCALP

It is rich in saponis, vitamins and antioxidants which makes your hair shiny and can help prevent premature graying of your strands.

   MAKES HAIR SHINY

It has anti-inflammatory properties that can help to calm down any inflammation or irritation on your scalp.

SOOTHES INFLAMATION

It can help regulate the pH levels of your scalp and hair, nourishing your hair follicles.

REGULATES PH LEVELS

THE BENEFITS OF ShikAKI ARE UNDENIABLE.

You’ll often see shikakai used for hair growth and dandruff troubles.

Hair loss often occurs when inflammation and clogged follicles weaken the roots, while dandruff is caused by excess oil and the fungus Malassezia globosa, which triggers itching, redness, and flaking. Shikakai helps address both—cleansing the scalp, reducing inflammation, strengthening hair, and fighting the fungus that causes dandruff.

How to Use Lode WTR

Lode WTR isn’t shampoo — it’s a scalp reset. It works best when you give your scalp time to calm down instead of forcing results.

Image 3(7) copy.png__PID:53b2c43a-c9ea-4c03-ba66-8bd45b8ce64f

Step 1: Wet your scalp

Use in the shower, on fully wet hair. This is your shampoo replacement. Or pre-wash if you’re hanging on to old ‘habits’

Step 2: Pour directly onto the scalp

The texture is water-like. That’s intentional.
Apply to the lengths if needed.

Step 3: Massage like you meant it

Use your fingertips and massage for about 60 seconds.

Step 4: Rinse clean

Follow with whatever you normally do. Use daily or whenever your scalp feels off. Stay consistent.

Stop overcorrecting.
Start balancing.

Scalp balance isn’t aggressive. It’s intentional.
That’s why shampoo keeps failing your scalp.

Frequently

Asked Questions

What actually helps itchy scalp fast?

When your scalp’s screaming with itch, the fastest relief comes from two things: soothing the irritation and clearing the build up fueling it. Ingredients like salicylic acid, zinc pyrithione, coal tar, colloidal oatmeal, aloe vera, peppermint extract (for cooling), tea tree oil, and apple cider vinegar (ACV) help calm the flare up, while mild cleansers and natural saponins (like from soapnut / reetha) remove the crust, oils and dead skin that trap the itch.

Avoid scented, heavily foaming shampoos, they may feel satisfying but often leave residues and irritate further. In short: a rinse that soothes + purges works faster than a promise of “relief” on a shiny label.

Is it dandruff or just dry scalp?

Dry scalp shows up as small, white flakes and a tight, often itchy feeling. Skin is too dry or barrier is compromised.

• Dandruff (aka seborrheic dermatitis or just “scalp greasiness with flake”) is driven by oil + yeast overgrowth + inflammation. You’ll see larger flakes, sometimes yellowish, scalp may be oily or patchy.

If your scalp is oily at the roots,/scaling and persistent – likely dandruff. If it’s just tight and flaky, especially after cold weather or heat styling – likely dry scalp.

Can scalp water replace shampoo?

Yes, and that’s the point. Traditional shampoo often relies on foam + fragrance + heavy surfactants to feel clean. But in many cases, your scalp doesn’t need more foam, it needs fewer ingredients and smarter chemistry.

A well formulated scalp water can fully replace shampoo, especially for those wanting to skip the foam routine, cut out fillers, and truly reset their scalp. Just make sure the formula addresses cleansing, pH balance, and barrier support (which this product does). So yes: scalp water can replace shampoo – not just as step 1, but as the only step for many users.

How do I use scalp water, before or after shampoo?

If you’re transitioning from regular shampoo: you can use your scalp water instead of your shampoo (i.e., only the scalp water, skip the shampoo).

If you must keep your shampoo (hair heavier, need conditioner, etc.), use the scalp water first: pour generously onto scalp → massage 60 seconds → rinse → follow with your usual conditioner or routine. Over time you’ll likely find you don’t need to rely on shampoo at all.

What does pH-balanced mean for scalp care?

Your scalp lives around pH 4.5 5.5 (slightly acidic). When you treat it with high pH or overly alkaline cleansers, you upset the barrier, encourage irritation, and leave the door open for oil/yeast overgrowth (linked to dandruff).

A pH balanced product means it’s formulated to stay within that natural range, protecting your scalp’s microbiome, reducing irritation and supporting long term scalp health. In simple terms: your scalp’s actual ecosystem is being respected, not bulldozed.

Is scalp water safe for color-treated hair?

Absolutely. Our formula does not have harsh surfactants, sulfates or heavy build up layers. It removes residue rather than coat the hair, so it’s gentler on color treated hair.

Because we use mild cleansing agents + natural extracts (instead of heavy silicones or persistent synthetic buildup), color is less likely to fade from repeated harsh washing. As always, follow with a conditioner if you have dry ends.

What ingredients are best for a sensitive scalp?

Look for soothing, not suffocating. Ingredients like aloe vera, colloidal oatmeal, chamomile, and glycerin calm irritation and hold moisture where it counts. Jojoba oil helps balance oil without clogging things up. If you’re using tea tree oil, make sure it’s diluted – it’s powerful stuff.

Avoid the usual suspects: sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrance. Sensitive scalps don’t need this drama. Avoid strong fragrances, heavy silicones, harsh sulphates and synthetic dyes. Your key is mild + effective rather than “extra fragranced for luxury.”

What’s the best scalp care routine for guys who hate routines?

This one. One step. That’s it.

• Use the scalp water: pour generously onto scalp.
• Massage 60 seconds.
• Rinse.

That’s your routine. Skip all the “extra” steps. No foam, no multiple products. Just one product that actually handles buildup, balances the scalp, and leaves you ready. Minimal time. Max impact.

What’s the best scalp care for teens with oily roots?

Teens with oily scalps want something fast, effective, and low maintenance:

• Use the scalp water 2- 3 times per week (or more when roots feel greasy).
• Focus application to root zone, massage to break oil + residue.
• Rinse and skip shampoo; conditioner only if ends are dry.
• On off days: rinse with water or use dry scalp-touch products (no heavy products at roots).

This cuts down “daily shampoo jamming in too much product” cycles, which often make oil worse. You’re giving the scalp what it actually needs: reset, root calm, balance.

Clean doesn’t need a routine.

Less effort. More relief.

About

I did what everyone tells you to do. Read the blogs. Watched the videos. Followed the rules.

I bought the serums. Detoxed the scalp. Avoided sulfates. And still ended up with an itchy, irritated scalp and zero real answers.

So I stopped trusting the routine and started questioning the system. I researched more. Tested. Made something cleaner, something that worked.

This is the shampoo replacement. Powered by centuries-backed botanical acids that that cleanse without stripping the scalp raw. There is no foam theatrics, no fragrance cover-ups. Just a scalp that finally feels… normal again.

It needed to be modern scalp care for real life. For people who train hard, game long, live fast—or just want fewer decisions in the shower. No five-step routines. No overcorrection. Just the right one.

Lode WTR isn’t trying to be everything to everyone. But if your scalp feels off and you’ve tried everything, then yes, you should give it a try.

Here's to your clean break!

What We’re Hearing

R. Walker

I’ve used the product four times and must say that it works. I got a haircut yesterday and this was the first time in a while that I was not embarrassed by the flurry of dandruff as they cut may hair. And my itching is gone.

C. Schonberg

It is no joke the best thing I have ever used for my very itchy scalp. Long time Prose user also and it never helped enough for me.

K. Fechter

Had my hair colored yesterday and my scalp definitely didn’t burn as much this time!

A. Aver

I’ve used it a couple of times. I think it’s working? May hair does feel soft. I have VERY THICK hair.
